Ways to give

A memorial or tribute gift to Great Rivers Environmental Law Center is a meaningful way to honor a loved one while supporting the fight for environmental protection. Whether celebrating a special occasion like a wedding, anniversary, or birthday, or remembering someone who shared a commitment to protecting our natural world, your gift helps ensure a lasting impact for future generations. This selection can be made uisng our online form and selecting “Dedicate this gift,” or by including a note with your mailed donation.

If you’re 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free donation to Great Rivers Environmental Law Center directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), sometimes called an IRA Charitable Rollover. You can donate up to $100,000 per year (adjusted for inflation) without counting the gift as taxable income. If you’re 73 or older, your QCD can also help satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for the year. This is a smart way to support environmental justice, clean air and water, and the protection of natural spaces while reducing your taxable income. To learn more about giving through a DAF, consult your fund provider or contact us for assistance. You can also download our sample letter to share with your IRA administrator. We strongly recommend you instruct your broker to include your name and address with the check. 

If you have a DAF, you can easily designate Great Rivers Environmental Law Center as a recipient to help us continue using the power of the law to safeguard our environment and communities. Please direct your DAF sponsoring organization to make checks payable to Great Rivers Environmental Law Center and mail to our office address listed below.
