Get Involved

There are a number of ways in which you can become meaningfully engaged with Great Rivers Environmental Law Center:

  • Watch for issues we might be able to help with.  If we don’t know something is going on, or we don’t have someone willing to be the plaintiff in a case, we can’t fight it!  Let us know if you see something wrong, and spread the word that we’re here if someone you know might want to ask us to look into something.
  • Donate – A monthly gift of $10 or a gift to name a staff position are both deeply appreciated.  We never charge full fee, and usually work for free so that we don’t have to turn away clients based on their income.
  • Peer-to-Peer Fundraise – We’ve recently partnered with Givebutter to give our supporters an option to fundraise for us on their own terms! Click the link to learn more!
  • Volunteer – there are lots of ways to get involved! Volunteers can help via research, writing, marketing, tabling at events data entry, event planning and more. If you have a legal background, our attorneys can use help doing research for their cases. You can fill out a volunteer application here.
  • Join our Young Professionals Board. Applications are currently being accepted for leadership roles on the Young Professionals Board. Individuals aged 18-35 years old who can commit 10 hours/month for a one year term are encouraged to apply.
  • Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Your engagement with our posts will help them reach more people.
  • Host a dinner with a staff person. Gather a group of eight or more friends who are interested to support local environmental action, and we will be happy to join you to share about our work.
  • Share your unique skill. Whether you are a painter, baker, crafter, writer or data geek, we’d love to find a way to use it.
