Donate to Great Rivers by Sponsoring Me as I walk 62.3 miles!

A fundraiser by Michael Hagmeier to support the protection of our planet

The Wabash Trail is built in part along an old railroad. You can read more about the trail’s history here:

Hello my good friend! In celebration of being 62 years old, I’m planning a “Great Walk” to raise money for the protection of our environment and public health.

I will walk the entire 62.3 miles of the Wabash Trace Nature Trail in SW Iowa, and I hope you will sponsor me for the walk. If you’d like to pledge to make a gift for each mile I walk, or to give a set amount, please sign up on this google form.

What will the funds raised be used for?

I will contribute the money I raise to support Great Rivers Environmental Law Center and the Southwest Iowa Nature Trail. Both organizations are making a real impact in fighting climate change and protecting our local natural resources.

Who is Great Rivers?

For over seventeen years, Great Rivers has served Missouri and Southern Illinois, providing free and reduced-fee legal services to individuals, organizations, and citizen groups who are working to protect the environment and public health.

They work through the courts and administrative agencies to safeguard the environment by enforcing environmental laws, especially air and water pollution laws, and laws intended to protect wetlands, floodplains, open space, and endangered species. The issues which they address often have national significance, although the majority of their work is within Missouri and Illinois.

Thank you for helping to raise money for the protection of our common home.

Michael Hagmeier

P.S. You can also donate today in support of the walk. Please note that you are giving in honor of the walk, so that I’ll know you’re with me:
